Let’s start our lesson with phonetic drill: Look at the interactive whiteboard. How many English words can you find in the word “Whitewash”? Make as many words as possible. Do not use names.

New theme: To solve the crossword with English Alphabet and find today’s theme and work with new words:

Learners listen to the audio twice, and while listening they do the tasks on matching, gap filling (I). Then, give the keys to the learners to check their answers themselves (self-assessment).

There are forests/lakes in the north and west. In the centre of the country there is a steppe/lake called Saryarka and a desert/mountain called Aral Karakum. Kysylkym and Moyunqum are in the south. There are three long rivers/deserts south: Syrdarya , Shu and Ili.In the south-east , there us a big lake/river called Balkash. The mountains/forests in the east are called the Altay and in the north-west there are the Urals and the Tian Shan.

Project work. Creating fantasy city
Learners work in groups. Divide learners into groups. Learners should take the cards with the names Forest and Mountain.Learners choose the pictures and who get the same pictures will have to sit together in one group.
Learners create a fantasy city using a blank map. They decide which features to include; make a key with symbols;
They should choose one of the favourite country and present it in front of the class following the questions:
1. What is the name of the country?
2. Are there any mountains, deserts , lakes etc?
3. Where are they [in the west, south ,etc.]?
4. Why do people go there?
Learners can prepare their presentation in the form of the poster.
